William 'Bill' Hager of Meadow Fork Road, Hewett, passed away at home Thurs., Aug. 27, 2015.

Born March 7, 1928, at Van, W.Va., he was a son of the late Del and Minnie Hager. He was also preceded in death by his wife,
Janet E. Hager, and grandson, William 'Billy' Conley.

He is survived by four children: Bonita Hager of Madison, W.Va., Bruce Hager (Debbie) of Meadow Fork, Jeanne Hager Carter of Destin, Fla., and Carlos Hager (Teresa) of Rock Mart, Ga. He is also survived by one granddaughter; four grandsons; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson due into this world Dec 1st.

Bill left his mark on hundreds of homes, churches and businesses across West Virginia during his many years work as a mason and carpenter. He loved listening to his old fox and coon hounds and for most of his life kept a kennel full. He served in the military after World War II in Japan and loved telling stories of his time there.

At his request there will be no viewing, but there will be a graveside service open to friends and family at 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 29, at Hager Family Cemetery located on Meadow Fork.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville, W.Va., is serving the Hager family.
