Howard V. Dent, 81, of Lake Wales and formerly Indian Lake Estates, died on Monday, April 23, 2012, at The Groves Center. He was born on February 9, 1931 in Hewett, West Virginia to John and Myrtle Barker Dent and moved to Florida twenty-one years ago from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was retired after twenty-two years as a machinist for Goodyear. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years Jessie J. Dent, daughter Debra Storey and husband Wayne of Malabar, sons Daniel Dent and wife Beth of Cameron, North Carolina and Darrell Dent and wife Susan of Lake Wales, seven grandchildren Amber, Jason, Jeremy, Brandon, Brie, Jaime, and Kelsey, six great grandchildren, and sisters Jewell Bonham of Cabin Creek, West Virginia and Gladys Dent of Charleston, West Virginia. Interment will be made at a later date at the Dent Family Cemetery in Hewett. Memorials of remembrance may be made to The Groves Center 512 South 11th Street, Lake Wales, FL 33853.
