Virginia Lucille Bias, 81, of Foster, formerly of Hewett, Boone County, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, after an extended illness.
Born Dec. 25, 1921, in Boone County, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Chando and Lottie Ball Spencer.
Mrs. Bias was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald R. Bias; brothers, Virgil, Ermine, and Earl Spencer; and sister, Shirley Bevino.
Mrs. Bias was a homemaker and a member of the Spencer United Methodist Church at Hewett.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Kaye Joiner of Sparta, Ill., Veronica Bias of Greenview, Beverly Smith of Foster; son, Remus Edward Ellis of Turtle Creek; sisters, Georgia Frame of Hewett, Blanche Harrison of Titusville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Spencer Chapel United Methodist Church at Hewett with Earl Akers, the Rev. Roger McCauley and Boyd Purcell officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallen Cemetery, Hewett.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the church.
