Robert Pugh
Died Dec. 5, 1849
In the 78 year
Of his age
He was a consistent member of the Baptist Church
This is my 3rd-great grandfather. The Capon Chapel and its cemetery sit on land that his father, Robert Pugh, Sr., donated to the church. Robert, Jr., inherited the land from his father and lived there until his death in 1849. It is believed that Robert, Sr., and his wife, Mary Sarah Edwards Pugh, are also buried here, but there are no headstones for their graves. Robert. Jr.'s wife, Ann (also known as Margaret Ann) McDonald Pugh is buried nearby.
