William Henderson Ball oldest child of Joseph Jr. & Delilah (Comer) Ball was born in Monroe County, Va (WVA) 30 Dec 1847 and died at Meadow Fork of Hewett, Boone Co., WV on 8 April 1897 leaving 8 children to survive. He had married Mary Jane Book born 1859 in Tazewell County VA daughter of George & Saluda (Thompson) Book. They married 5 Nov 1875 in Boone County, WV. Henderson Ball as he was called owned more than 400 acres on Meadow Fork and Aleshire Fork of Hewetts Creek. This land was divided among his 8 Children about 1913. He was a farmer by trade.
The first cemetary located on what was to become his property was by a Smith Family and it is now gone. The 2nd known Cemetary located on what was to become his property is located across the valley from what is called the Henderson Ball Cemetery and was called the Community Cemetery now known as Spencer/McNelly Cemetery contained the graves of his father and mother in-law George & Saluda Book. They had one other daughter Rhoda who married Ashford W. Ball.
